that was before i went insane

“It’s moments like this that remind me why I love traveling so much. It really takes me back to nature, refocuses my priorities, and seems to present me with some kind of epiphany on life every time.”
had a better day today – having to teach helped to ground me a bit. helps to read other people’s accounts of travelling – how so many of them say the same thing… it would be so easy to stay here. travelling mimics the human desire to transcend limitations, to step outside of the daily round. i try to tell myself that the pub or the mountain or the field full of sheep would be as humdrum as the trucks that rumble outside my brooklyn window if i experienced them everyday. not quite convinced, but i am trying.
anyway, onward. but i confess, i am applying for an artist/writer residency in ireland for the month of august. i know i said i was going to stay in new york. yep, that is what i said. that was before i went insane.
